Fast replacement of floor covering at Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein is one of the most visited castles and palaces in Europe. Every year around 1.4 million people visit the fairytale castle of King Ludwig II of Bavaria in Schwangau in the Allgäu region. The summer season often sees more than 6,000 visitors crowding through the rooms every day. That means the floor covering on the walkways has to withstand a lot of use. The substrate and the adhesive also have to handle extreme loads. The local building authority (the Staatliches Bauamt Kempten) wanted a quick, safe and clean solution for the current renovation of the worn floor coverings in corridors and on walkways. After extensive consultation, the decision was made to install flooring with Uzin Sigan dry adhesive on foil backing – on stress-relief matting and stainless steel sheets. This solution provides optimum protection for the historic stone floor and, if necessary, the new coverings can be removed without leaving any residue.

Where once halves of beef hung, today it smells of fresh bread. In Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the old slaughterhouse was converted into a restaurant. The interior design combines industrial elements with a modern design. The up to 200 years old antique wooden floorboards made the highest demands on the parquet layer and the products he used.

Zugspitze: UZIN on the top of Germany

Not everyone can claim they have carried out work at Germany's highest construction site, but the company Kraus from Grainau (Germany) can. Bernhard Kraus and his team have installed 800 m² of solid wood flooring in the renovated Panorama restaurant at the summit station. The challenge was to find a renovation solution under difficult logistical and climatic conditions. Uzin's high-performance installation materials guaranteed a safe and perfect result.

Record: Daycare centre with rapid screed from UZIN.

The new daycare centre Uferstädtchen was built in the middle of of Nuremberg’s metropolitan region, on the grounds of the Uferstadt Fürth business and science campus. The two-storey building, situated in the redeveloped district on the former Grundig area, provides space for three groups, a fitness room, and views of the renaturalised Pegnitz and the surrounding greenery.

Temporary floors in the museum

With his artwork “The Wasteland,” Spanish artist Juan Muñoz created an inlaid piece for the floor, variations of which have been displayed in many large museums around in the world since 1987. The resilient floor tiles for the Museum of Art Lucerne were specially flown in from Madrid, temporarily installed, and then returned intact for their next use after the exhibition was over.
